Like the spaces I create, my process and work is genuine, rooted in nature and true to my philosophy. Whether you just want to understand what you can plant to make space better or whether you want a backyard makeover with multiple levels and a swimming pool, I can find the approach that is right for you and create the space you have dreamed of.

STEP 1: The initial interview
The first step in a full design package is the client interview. I will meet with you to understand your needs and particular landscape design program. Before I do anything else, I will make sure that I have understood your wants and needs for your project and your individualized landscape design program. You may be surprised by what can be achieved and how your site can meet your requirements in ways you have never imagined!

STEP 2: The site assessment
I will perform a thorough site assessment - I will assess your existing plants, their state of health and desirability. I will look at waterflow and opportunities to manage runoff. I will look at the context of your site - are there any neighbouring ecosystems? Are there opportunities to provide vegetation that links contextually with your neighbours to increase habitat? Does your backyard already have any visual or ecological positives? Depending on the complexity of the site, the services of surveyor might be required.
STEP 3: The design presentation
Then I will get to work designing the yard of your dreams. I will create a basic initial concept which may offer alternative solutions. We will walk through it together in detail to make sure it meets your needs and that nothing has been missed.
STEP 4: Final drawings
Once I have finalized the design with you, I will draft more detailed plans to realize it. Optional 3D visualizations can also be included. Occasionally, input is required from other professionals, such as arborists, engineers or geotechnical reports. Whatever is needed, I will make sure you walk away with the tools to create the backyard you have dreamed of.

Plants grow and fill in over time. It can take at least a year to start to see how your garden will develop. A one year follow up ensures allows for the opportunity to offer advice and suggestions to improve your garden’s health.
